A new gala comes to Langley this weekend that is designed to raise awareness – not necessarily money – for a Langley-based organization called Kimz Angels.

Kimberly Snow and her team of about 40 angels have been working for 17 years to collect and deliver clothing, furniture, non-perishable food, baby necessities, kids’ toys, school supplies, shelter and other basics for struggling families and individuals in Langley.

“We believe everyone deserves the hope of a better future,” Snow said. “Our grassroots fundraising initiatives and donation drives require no administration fees, no middle men. No office. We are not a large operation. We keep it simple.”

Kimz Angels is involved in fundraising activities and food drives contributing to organizations like Best Babies, Langley schools, Gateway of Hope, local food banks, and church outreach programs.

The purpose of the new event, Snow said, is to raise awareness to the needs in this community.

The Pink Gala is happening Saturday, May 27 at the Glass House Estate Winery (23449 0 Ave.), and being presented by Glass House and Well Seasoned. Festivities get underway at 7 p.m.

Tickets are $75 and available from 604-807-1362 or email magicminibus@hotmail.com.

“All proceeds go back to our community,” Snow said, noting that 15 per cent of all the wine purchased during the event also goes to Kimz Angels.
