Police are seeking the public’s help to identify the elderly woman who was struck by a white Dodge pickup truck Monday afternoon, Dec. 18.

The collision occurred just after 4:20 p.m. at the intersection of 268th Street and 26A Avenue.

BC Emergency Health Services transported the pedestrian to hospital with serious injuries.

The woman is described to be of Asian or Filipino descent, in her early 70s, 5-feet tall, 110 lbs, wearing a black jacket and shoes, and carrying a black umbrella while pulling a fold-able fabric shopping cart when she was walking in the area she was struck.

“The victim remains in critical condition and is therefore unable to identify themselves,” explained Craig van Herk with the Langley RCMP.

“Investigators are hoping the public may be able to help identify her, which would also connect us with her family.”

Langley RCMP’s investigation determined the white Dodge pickup truck was travelling south on 268th Street, approaching 26A Avenue where the pedestrian was walking north on 268th Street and crossing 26A Avenue.

The driver of the pickup truck made a left turn onto 26A Avenue and hit the pedestrian.

“The driver remained at the scene and provided first aid until first responders arrived,” said van Herk.

Anyone who may be able to identify the woman is asked to contact the Langley RCMP at 604-532-3200.
