Students of all ages are coming together for the production of ‘Frozen Jr.’ the musical at Langley Fundamental Middle and Secondary School.
Starting Friday, April 26, the public is invited to embark on a magical journey of music, talent, and creativity that will leave the audience “spellbound,” said producer and teacher Kristina Nand.
“This production is a testament to the incredible talent and creativity of our students,” she said. “Witness their dedication and passion as they bring beloved characters to life on stage.”
One of those characters is the iconic snowman Olaf, who will be played by Grade 12 student Abby White.
“It’s super cool to see all different types of people come together to put on this awesome production,” White shared.
Grade 6 student Crista Krahn is playing young Anna, and said her favourite thing about theatre is the dancing and singing.
“I also enjoy getting to meet new people, make new connections, and being able to receive feedback in acting, singing, and dancing so I can improve and learn,” Krahn said.
And older Anna will by portrayed by Grade 12 student Elyse Brown, who is looking forward to the final product of her and her classmates’ work.
“I hope to inspire other students in the audience to participate in musicals, since it has made my high school experience incredibly special.”
Reuben Krausse, Grade 12 student, is play Kristoff and Adelaide Layton, Grade 9 student, is playing Elsa.
There are more than 40 students of various grades involved in the production of the Frozen Jr. play.
Nand said that while the show appeals to a younger audience, it will also resonate for people of all ages.
“The timeless theme of love, family, and self-discovery are beautifully portrayed – leaving a lasting impact on everyone who watches,” she noted.
The show kicks off on Friday, April 26, at 7 p.m. at 21250 42nd Ave.
