Dear Editor,

Letter to Federal Housing Minister Sean Fraser,

Land, sea and air.

Utilizing the opportunities for housing we have three choices to where to build housing for Canadians. One of these is being overlooked, actually two, but I think one should focus on the least expensive.

Canada is blessed with a massive market place for housing on waterways and the ocean with the potential to build an opportunity for the future for float homes and houseboats along the coastlines and large bodies of water if done properly. Federal and provincial lands are available you just need to put in the infrastructure in these potential developments.

Lease land with docks and infrastructure, and you will be housing Canadians in a very short time.

The potential for industries, Canadian businesses would be enhanced and will enrich the local economies as well as all of Canada and home ownership would become one more step to reality. Co-ops, non-profit agencies and low-income housing would become one more opportunity for development for rental units for the people who are in need of housing, and first time buyers would to be able to moor their homes at a low cost that is affordable.

Canada needs to see the opportunities, and imagine what can and could be done to have housing that can be made available to all Canadians no matter what their income is. Land is expensive but our shorelines that are owned by the government and can be managed responsibly to benefit a housing need for all Canadians if done in a responsible manner, and a futuristic outlook.

We have three choices where to house Canadians think about it because it’s a platform for our future.

Cran Campbell, Langley City
